Restaurant Landgasthof Gilsbach in Winterberg

We came from Neuastenberg via a nice back road to eat at Landgasthof Gilsbach. We made a reservation in advance but I don't know if that was really necessary. It was not very busy. Very pleasant and homely. Our daughter was stung by a wasp and the lady who brought us the food was genuinely concerned about her. The spinach noodle balls with butter sauce looked like beam slurry but ......... DELICIOUS that it was! It made me feel nauseous because I really wanted to eat everything :) It is not a fancy restaurant, but it is clean; you can eat very relaxed with a tasty German menu and friendly service.

Very friendly hosts. Everything is very well organized, also with regard to Corona! Plexiglass between adjacent tables etc. I would deduct half a point because of the lack of WiFi reception. With three pubescent Children are in a fix. 🙄

Been here for the fourth time within two months, service very friendly food super !! Corona measures are well observed, in short, recommended !!!!

Price performance is okay. Rooms are well-kept and relatively newly renovated, but they seemed a bit small to us. But that's not a shortcoming for us. The sauna area is small but nice with a nice roof terrace for relaxing. We had our dog with us, which was never a problem. The hostess is very nice and personable. Restaurant is very good home-style. Here the boss cooks himself! The only point of criticism is that the Internet and the mobile phone reception. A decent WLAN repeater should be considered here, as the Internet was not usable at all. I was only able to access emails via the mobile phone network during my stay. The reception for phone calls is fine at the front door. So it is probably due to the construction of the hotel. We can definitely recommend the hotel!

Very good ambience, nice and friendly and good kitchen has everything you need is highly recommended.

So unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant at all. I've rarely seen such bad service. Eating from 2 p.m. is only possible inside, coffee and cake are outside. If you want to go there as a family with 3 children, that's a shame. The card looks promising. When asked whether we could order food and pick it up later, they said yes, BUT only 1 dish in total and we had to bring our own china. I was really speechless. I've seldom seen something like this badly organized. There is a beautiful terrace and it cannot be used for eating. Without words ... We only ate coffee, ice cream and cake, that was ok, although the children's ice cream was already very melted and we waited almost half an hour for cake and ice cream, the coffee was now cold ... For us never again .... Oh yes and on request: there would be no children's menu either .... Well, we'll leave our money with the competition ... To your reply today: I can only write what I have experienced and if your staff is not informed about the processes and gives false information, you have an internal communication problem! Maybe the food is good, I can't judge that, we would have loved to try it and wanted to reserve a table outside to eat at 6pm. The statements described were made to us and they really left me speechless. So we went to your competitor for regular dinner in the evening and left our money (5 people) there.

We were spontaneously to eat there on our vacation. Everyone was very friendly and our dog was not a problem either. The food was very tasty! Recommend it gladly. 😉

It is just always super nice with the Gilsbach family. We can only recommend it to everyone.

Very nice hotel, conveniently located right on the Rothaarsteig. Delicious breakfast and food. Ideal for dog fans, you can rent nice apartments in the neighboring building. That was not the last time we were there with the Gilsbachs.

Went there over Pentecost. Nice inn with super nice staff. Innkeepers very friendly and attentive! Great food and rooms were good. Beds comfortable and nothing else to complain about. Ideal location for a long hike. We can only recommend it! !!

Good sanitation, and that means pretty much everything. Although it was fairly empty, the food took a long time. We had two coke and two chocolate milk. The chocolate milk was brought much later than the coke, and the chocolate milk was also very watery. Far too much salt was used with the food (which we had to ask for several times). There was not enough bread with the soup, when extra was asked, we found this later on the bill. All in all a disappointing experience for a nice looking restaurant.

This hotel is a little 'less' than it appears in the pictures. However, the phone reception is extremely warm. The 'eagerly awaited' breakfast buffet, which is promised with a lot of confusion 💥, is a joke. Throughout the service, people exude a certain exuberance in price / quality. With the worst pillows and a not always quiet road, in my opinion a relatively moderate recommendation ..

Been there for the 2nd time. What can I say!? It was like the first time! The Gilsbach family is very friendly, the food was delicious, the apartments were good and the location was great! Go driving there more often! :-)

I have never eaten so well. It's great that the meat comes from animals from the region that are kept in an appropriate manner. Since you can taste the same difference to the meat from factory farming. Here I will eat again soon. 👍👍👍👍👍

Good guesthouse, good food. You are really spoiled. Rooms top, and checked every day. Highly recommended for a few days of hiking pleasure.

We spent our summer holiday in September with the best weather in the Landgasthof Gilsbach and were very satisfied. The family and their staff were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, with a vegetarian dish and plenty of salad every day. The rooms were a good size and clean. The visit of the small wellness area after a hike very pleasant. We would go back.

I was there today with the home and hiking club Hirzenhain. Cozy, lovable, friendly female waitress in beautiful dirndl serving delicious food from the kitchen. Price / performance ratio perfectly fine

Nice bedroom and excellent food! The owner is very friendly and is always willing to help, the rest of the staff are also very good! They gave me a bus ticket for the whole weekend, a place to put my ski and a bottle of water in the room. The attention is very personalized. It also has also got a nice sauna. The only problem for me was the public transport, buses go by every 1 or 2 hours, eventhough you can call a taxi. The price is good and it includes breakfast and dinner... I would recommend it!

We had lovely two bedroom apartments. The apartment is very clean and equipped with everything you need. We liked it very much, we will be happy to come back.
